We are a family of 5 currently living in the Pacific Northwest, but previously from Texas and California. We have three daughters (but no my husband doesn't own a shotgun) and family spread out all around the world (my parents are in Egypt, his in California). I blog to keep my family up to date on our happenings and to document our kids lives... I'm hoping that one day they will appreciate this online journal of their childhood :)

I am also a photographer in Seattle-Tacoma, Washington. You can find me over at kipperphotography.com. Thanks for stopping by!

Growing up

There are times when I look around and count the girls, one...two...three... and think to myself "holy crap, how do I have three kids!? When did that happen?" I get sort of a panicked, claustrophobic feeling when I realize all these little people are looking to me for answers, thinking that I can solve anything. When the truth is that I'm still looking to my parents for the answers, thinking that they can solve everything...

Most of us become parents long before we have stopped being children.

I wonder if I'll ever feel "grown up"?

  1. I have 4 and feel like a kid. I totally get the panicked "HOW do I have kids - I'm still a kid" feeling.

  3. I feel the same way! But with two kids. I still look to my parents for guidance and I know they still worry about me and my siblings. And I know I will do the same forever! Kind of a cruel world out here! You never stop worrying!

  4. HAHA! So true! I have 4 little things looking to me for the answers. I look to God and Thank God he accepts imperfections!

  5. Oh my goodness that is an adorable picture!! Just last night I looked at my husband standing in our hall and thought to myself, 'he's a grown man, responsible for our entire family?' It seems like just yesterday we were two 12 year old kids flirting in class.

  6. I am not sure when you feel grown up. I think maybe when we got on a plane to Hong Kong from San Francisco with a two year old and a five month old to start our assignment in Indonesia. There were Dad's parents waving goodbye, and we were really on our own!
